Family Events a Success at Central

This week marks a milestone in the academic careers of our oldest students at Central Elementary, the 2nd graders--a return to a feeling of “normalcy” with parent-invited events. These students began as kindergarteners in the 2019-2020 school year, with their synchronous learning cut short at the onset of the pandemic. Last school year, many students remained online-only for the duration, while those who returned to in-person donned masks and attempted to maintain social distance at all times. During the current school year, however, they have started back 100% in-person, with masks optional, and best hygiene practices in place in lieu of strict distancing--and yesterday and today, families were welcomed onto campus for the first time in nearly a year and a half to join our book fair morning events, “Donuts with Grownups.” This comes as the dashboard currently proclaims a total of 1 active case in our entire district, reflecting the trend of declining cases in our county .  Famili...
